Her Story
Phoebe is a product of the warm, sweet, California, oak-laden foothills, a loving family of 7, and too many childhood larks to count without using other people's fingers and toes. One might describe her as a boisterous, peculiar, whimsical whirling dervish with outlandish notions and ideas. Always passionate about music and all forms of art, Phoebe went off to Berklee College of Music in Boston to study Songwriting and to learn what an East Coast Winter is actually like. While in Boston, she dabbled in photography, acting, and modeling, all preparing her for the life that would lead her to Michael upon her return to California.
His Story
Michael's story began not far from Phoebe's point of origin, hailing from the gorgeous, summery Emerald Hills region with his sister as his companion in childhood mischief.
Don't let Mike fool you with his story about his fabled toe-finger, though! He loves to spin a yarn if he thinks it will make you smile...and it always does. One might describe him as a fearless, tireless, juggernaut of joyousness, pondering the absurdities and necessities of life with his bear-sized heart. Brilliant in music as well as academics, Michael used his talents as a session musician and teacher, all while founding a sound company with his friend that would lead him right to where he needed to be to meet Phoebe.
Our Story!
Now, how did these two crazy kids meet? Well, Phoebe was writing a concept album and desperately needed a drummer for recording. Mike was recommended to her by a mutual friend, who said, "You'll probably like him so much, you guys will end up getting married." So, they met for coffee, and talked of music and aspirations, and Mike invited Phoebe to help him run sound at a show that very night. Phoebe, a little shy of her new acquaintance, came with a friend, and while she was really only able to help coil cables, she did sit next to Mike the entire show! As they sat, she was certain Mike was flirting with her. He told her his favorite tall tale about his infamous toe-finger, and another doozy about how he threw a knife through his foot (many of Mike's tales involve physical mayhem, you may imagine,) and then asked her if she would ever date someone living in a warehouse. Since Phoebe imagined it to be a magically bohemian and artistic warehouse, she said she would without a moment's hesitation. In fact, the whole evening they got on like peas and carrots. On the way home, Phoebe's friend even commented that he, too, thought Phoebe and Mike would end up getting married.
And he was right.
